Well of course I'm a demented, deranged, hair-on-fire, crazy Liberal Kike, personally responsible for the economic debacle -- at least that's what some Rush Limbaugh supporters tell me and who am I to argue? I'm obviously "out of touch, off base, and irrelevant" in my displeasure with the Republicans -- just like a two thirds majority of America.
The Democrat, liberal, immigrant loving, freedom hating big spenders are taking the country straight to hell now that my fringe element minority of 65% has removed the thrifty, honest and morally upright Republican majority from control -- that is if the "terrorists" don't take over DesMoines and kill us all with flouride first.
Yes, that's right, Republicans stand for limited government, but not just yet, and markets so free they're lawless. They're all for the unlimited freedom to obey, for massive military spending without oversight, for massive transfers of wealth to offshore corporations -- without oversight; and so much do they believe in it, they are happy to listen to your phone calls, read your mail, intercept your e-mails and faxes and peek in your windows to make sure you're happy about it.
What are we going to do, now that they're gone? And how sad it is just when they were about to turn the Democrat sabotaged economy around with even more borrowing, spending and tax cuts for billionaires.
So anyway, when you read John Yoo's memo to Bush in Newsweek asserting that "First Amendment speech and press rights may also be subordinated to the overriding need to wage war successfully," you can be sure it's only the Jew-bastard Liberals lying through their long noses. Even so, unlimited power for the President is only another way of looking at limited government. Ask Rush to explain it to you.
I am interrupting my overburdened workload of the next few weeks to agree wholeheartedly with this tirade.
ReplyDeleteThe simpering Byzantines of the GOP cower and quake in the presence of their newly appointed blubber mouth, Il Duce Benzino Napaloni Limbaugh. Hell-bent on imposing Acerbo Law and with their ranks swollen with squadristi, they want to take back America and reclaim the Gold of the Fatherland.
Sound familiar?
I was so angry reading the article on Mr. Yoo and the rest of his minions last night.
ReplyDeleteHow can any self respecting GOP supporter, who called libs hacks when we sounded the alarm on the curtailing of civil and first constitutional rights now continue to support those guys?
This is incredible.
Oh Captain my Captain. There was a time when I thought I was something. Big following. Loads of comments. This is better than anything I ever did.
ReplyDeleteSadly, a majority of Americans are like Archie Bunker...pretty set in their ways and beliefs.
ReplyDeleteThe issue is how do we get their attention and get them to think about their positions rather than just rant about them?
"Jew-bastard Liberals"
ReplyDeletelol
This is why registered Republicans like myself are abandoning ship en masse.
ReplyDeleteThe Republicans of today are not what I grew up believing they are. They say "Limited government" while coming up with Gtmo and the PATRIOT Act. Disgusting.
james, I think there are many of us out here who are more centerist than anything else. I have registered Independent all my adult life and have always voted after careful deliberation without regard to party affiliation. And you have named two of the biggest reasons why I consider the Republicans dangerous and hypocritical. With Gitmo came the complete abandon of the constitution we Americans hold so dear and with the Patriot Act came the abuses to the Bill of Rights which have dictated public policy.
ReplyDeletePresident Obama has four years in which to prove himself. Anyone who has a specific complaint about a specific policy; have at it, but I am sick and tired of vague and unsubstantiated rants about socialists and "we all gonna die!"
"Il Duce Benzino Napaloni Limbaugh"
ReplyDeletehahaha love that.
Truth,
ReplyDeleteThank you, but it's undeserved and I think my entire following could fit in the back seat of my two seater.
I can verify that I know many lifelong Republicans who have abandoned the GOP since they're really not conservative in any way and have not lived up to their promises for over a half century - maybe more. Certainly the Rush Rabble are little more than deranged, irrational, hate-filled ogres and many are outright fascists. That's why I've compared him with Coughlin, but in fact, I think Coughlin's followers were of a milder flavor.
The saddest thing of all, to me, is to see how the mainstream GOP leaders grovel and whine to avoid his displeasure. If a new and rational and actually conservative party ever arises, and I do hope it does, it won't be from the ranks of anyone I'm noticing, except perhaps for Ron Paul, who despite some radical rhetoric is more pragmatic than people give him credit for.

ReplyDeleteNot sure I share your sadness. The smartest possible political move by the Democrats is to equate Il Duce with the GOP. Consider what happened to Sen. Joe McCarthy. Once the public started paying attention, increased scrutiny ended McCarthy's career. Limbaugh will have the same effect on the GOP.
Consider its a classic example of Lakoff framing.
It would take more faith in human intelligence and sanity than I have to believe this reptilian spectacle (no offense to dinosaurs intended) will reveal the pathological nature of Republicans to the public.
ReplyDeleteI had to delete comments again this morning -- something I haven't yet done in all these years. A racist, anti-semitic diatribe and a threat to murder me because "all liberals are. . . and all kikes are. . ."
Unfortunately my name was published in the local newspaper and I think it behooves me to carry protection against "conservatives"
Captain Fogg, I thought you might find this interesting (from the Daily KOS):

Fox sweeps Rush Limbaugh under the rug by Jed Lewison, Tue Mar 03, 2009 at 07:45:05 PM PST
Question: How do you know when the powers that be at Fox News Channel think something is bad for the Republican Party?
Answer: They ignore it.
Frequency of Limbaugh mentions by cable channel:
CNN – 227
FOX – 58
MSNBC – 267
Now, however, they aren't paying nearly as much attention, preferring to ignore a problem that they helped to create, implicitly admitting that Rush is no good for the GOP.

See, I told ya.
I had an interesting lunch today with three other couples, all Republicans. All thought Limbaugh was disgusting and thought his wish for Obama to fail was appalling disloyalty. Yes, there's hope.
ReplyDeleteWhat's really appalling to me though is that Limbaugh and his legions of losers still think they are a majority, still talk about "cleaning our clocks" and mock us around the clock while complaining about our mockery.
Yes, in the long run, they help ruin the Republican Party as we have known it and yes, if there are enough sane conservatives left to form a new party or a rebuilt party, I would welcome it, but it's hard to live in a universe where such unclean hoards are allowed to breed, to mock and jape and persecute.

ReplyDeleteBut Captain Fogg, my esteemed friend. I put up with sharks and barracuda all the time and sometimes find myself sacrificing a tentacle or two to make my escape (which grow back in due course).
But you can eat sharks and barracudas - what good is a Republican?
ReplyDeleteI have been absent of late, spending time in my garage tinkering away on a space ship to take me to Jupiter, Saturn or wherever liberals with a capital L are currently holed up. I am not a centrist. I am a liberal who leans so far to the left I occasionally teeter totter as if to fall off the edge. Needless to say, there is not much left on this planet for a true lib like me.
ReplyDeleteHOWEVER - in light of the latest nonsense from RushL - I do fear passing him in my flight on the way to Jupiter because surely his party will soon be sending him - or themselves - into orbit. I don't fancy such company in my travels in search of more sane living.
... but Captain Fogg, didn't you know? Republicans are full of Protein Wisdom!
ReplyDeleteMy fellow cephalopod, Squid. I didn't think there was a space ship big enough to thrust a Rush into orbit. So, no need to worry. BTW, all liberals go to Venus.
