Maddow: "Corporate Parasites"

Maddow takes on Tim Phillips of Americans For Prosperity, an astroturf group behind the tea party movement and sponsor of the Right Online conference:

  1. Thanks for posting this. Always a treat when a clown like Philips is actually required to explain himself. Maddow certainly knows b******t when she hears it and the hurt feelings displayed by Philips is priceless. These folks hate, hate, hate being called out and Rachel is good at it. Wish we had a dozen more on the air like her.

I'd have to consider getting television again.

  2. Thanks for posting this. My "stupid man" sound so much better when parsed by Rachel Maddow.

  3. She followed up the interview last night with solid video linking the speeches about Pol Pot and Hitler to this shady group. Proof Phillips was lying.

Unfortunately Fox always wins and the truth is what they say it is.

She couldn't determine where their obviously large funding comes from but does anyone NOT think it's all from the Health Care industry?

I will always support freedom of speech, but the disgusting way it's misused shows we really don't deserve it.

  4. OMG... I'm speechless. Thanks for posting it, Matt. I had no idea who this guy was or what he was about.

Unbelievable. What a weasel. Of course he never takes responsibility for his words or actions. Typical.

  5. And George HW Bush called Maddow a "sick puppy?"

Sometimes it's really, really hard to live in this country.

    Sigh.

  6. Really! Things have become so absurd I sometimes expect Godot to show up. Maddow is probably the most polite TV journalist and far more careful with the facts, but then Bush the Elder things Bush the Idiot was a good president, so we can't expect rational comments.

  7. That Bush #41 rant was NOT really about Olberman or Maddow. Imbedded meaning: Stop picking on my boy.

    Aw shucks!

Tim Phillips is merely the Rhymer Wormtongue for Koch Industries, the money behind Americans for Prosperity. The Koch brothers operate the Koch Family Foundations, a major source of funding for conservative and libertarian political causes. (Their father helped found the John Birch Society). Koch Industries founded Americans for Prosperity, formed as a successor to Citizens for a Sound Economy. Koch Industries and its subsidiaries spent more than $20 million on lobbying in 2008, and $5.6 million in 2009. Tells you something, doesn’t it!

  8. Rachel is a class act; what a welcome change from the spitting and tears and other antics of Rush and Glenn.
I found the deception concerning the Chinese workers particularly offensive. Sacrificing the health and safety of human beings for profit is the lowest.

  9. Capt. Fogg, the money comes from all the usual suspects: oil & gas, PhRMA, insurance, etc. Basically, every evil corporate lobby group on the planet.
