Happy 70th

Before the day is out, all the best to Bob, my northern neighbour to the south...

  1. Obligatory observation about this making me feel old. Almost everything does these days :)

Tangled up in Blue is one of my favorites of his.

Can't believe he's 70! What does that make me? Ummm, never mind...

  4. Dylan turned 70? My 20s were measured out in songs by Dylan. I'm still younger than he is.

  5. Well Sheria, maybe these lyrics finally fit:

Crimson flames tied through my ears
    Rollin’ high and mighty traps
Pounced with fire on flaming roads
    Using ideas as my maps
“We’ll meet on edges, soon,” said I
    Proud ’neath heated brow
Ah, but I was so much older then
    I’m younger than that now...

And it's a damn fine poem, too.

  6. Edge, I recall listening to "My Back Pages" repeatedly as I tried to learn the lyrics and unravel their meaning. I really didn't understand the refrain back then--"Ah, but I was so much older then
    I’m younger than that now..."

I don't know that I totally get it now but somehow it makes a lot more sense to me.

The lyrics do make a damn fine poem.
