The Greater Groper

Back when America was great, or at least when Humpty Trumpty suggests it was, America was about free trade and open borders, the business of America was business and laissez faire Capitalism was King. That's sort of the message I get from Clinton's "secret" speeches, you know the ones that show she's in league with the minions of free market Capitalism. How the hell did it come about that a truly rapacious freebooter who wants to destroy banks and financial institutions like a Bolshevic's wet dream, who thinks he has the right to grope your wife for sport, who doesn't believe in paying his bills and has cheated his way to the top is the champion not only of the GOP but of the people he routinely screws? So she suggests that bankers and brokers and the like know best how "Wall Street" should be regulated, that's not saying they should be given the power to self-regulate. It's saying that they know what's going on better than congress or you for that matter. The Trumpshevics hope you think so, but then they just assume you're dumb and uneducated, mad as hell and half drunk. Go ahead, scream about Killary, you idiots, you'll be first on the bread line.

  1. Shall we call this a “slam your thumb with a hammer” phenomenon? As a kind of stimulus-response test, the idea is to hit your thumb with a hammer and record the amount of it time it takes to elicit an “ouch” response.

Many of us saw the bully, kleptocrat, predator and aspiring despot from the onset. For others, the “ouch” response took time to travel up the arm to the brain before the pain was fully felt. Too much time. Some experience no pain at all … and never will.

Why? Perhaps their neural connections are crossed. Perhaps they feel anger before they feel pain, and never get their brains in gear.

Perhaps we should administer this diagnostic as a form of literacy test. Perhaps it will explain why certain folks turn mirrors to the wall and still prefer to live in trailers.

  2. It's tempting to think none of them have enough neurons to make a synapse and in my experience many of them have yachts and live in big houses. By many measures they could lay claim to being smart. Humans like demagogues who promise great things and promise to end problems that often don't exist. Elderly Trump Grumps who think the world has gone to hell because they're becoming irrelevant, Hispanics who see Trump closing the door for them now that they're here, Millennials who want messiahs of their own and opt not to vote. It's all just a great madhouse of our own creation.

Darwin told us that we still retain the stamp of our lowly origins. He was talking about our outward form, but it's more true about our minds, I should think.
