The GOP's close resemblance to a Psychrolutes marcidus

When I first read John Kass' article yesterday, I could have sworn he was describing Republicans.

He said, the cunning blobfish [Republican] is boneless [spineless], "a gelatinous orb hovering in the deep [shadows], covered in slime and mucus."

"A blobfish [Republican] looks like some fat, drunken judge [congressman] and may be highly intelligent. And therefore quite dangerous."

"It frowns. It leers. Sometimes, it even drools."

The blobfish [Republican] hovers just above the ocean [senate/house] floor without having to expend energy.

The blobfish [Republican] is becoming extinct.

As you've seen, Kass is talking about the spineless fish and not the dangerous Republicans. But you have to admit the similartities are uncanny.

A face only its mother can love.

  1. Just watch, the Republicans will run that thing for a Senate seat this year. It already has the scowl down pat.

  2. LMAO! Mitch McConnell?

Leslie, you've made my day with this picture. (Not sure if this is a good thing -- I have a client coming any minute and I suspect I'll be giggling throughout our session, remembering this image.)

  3. Funny, I wrote a piece a while back about the GOP's refusal to evolve with the demographics of social change. This thing came from the water, but it's not about to crawl onshore and breathe.

  4. Meet your new bipartisan Congressman (but don't let him out in the rain).
