  1. Shouldn't that be total wages deferred not lost

    1. Anon,
Never bank on money you don't have (unless you are former President GWB trying to finance two wars, two tax reduction bills, a prescription drug extension to Medicare - all on the nation's credit card).

BTW, of all those 883,392 people on furlough, many have mortgages, car loans, school loans, child care expenses, and other bills to pay with NO INCOME at this time.

One of those furloughed employees happens to be my son-in-law. Since he works for the Defense Department, he has been ordered back to work ... forcing him to pay commuting costs with no offsetting income.

Will there be any bonuses, rewards, or special treatment for those who stayed home versus those who returned to work without pay? Call the Koch brothers and get back to me with an answer.

    2. Ebenezer Scrooge asked if there weren't any poorhouses or hospitals. Not in America. But this is the kind of Dickensian horror these hooligans long for, so they can roam the streets at night feasting on corpses and just in time for Halloween.

  2. In every government shutdown I doubt anyone had their house foreclosed on because they were late with a mortgage payment.
Working for the government has a number of perks and having a shutdown is the chance you take. What about the companies who shut down due to a strike, do they get back wages. Working for the government you don't have to wory about them going out of business no matter how much they screw up.

    1. Anon,
Your only purpose in coming here is to annoy, antagonize, and taunt with no regard for the impact of this shutdown on my family. I am deeply offended. Now go away and don’t come back … EVER!

    2. The annoy, antagonize and taunt is part of a program. It's what they do to distract any conversation away from the facts - which are quite damning. To a long time observer, the faithful adherence to the program is remarkable. Nearly as remarkable as the rank and foetid stupidity of America.

  3. Yeah, sure, it's no big deal to miss a couple of paychecks - for you. Care to guess how many Americans live one paycheck from disaster? Guess how nay businesses and landlords are going to suffer? But guess you weren't around the last time the thugs shut down the government.
or you just don't give a shit as long as you can make Obama look bad.

  4. As I said, these bastards would destroy the world and everything good in it just to get at Obama. There is nothing whatever to their entire movement but hatred, selfishness and greed and the lies that excuse it.

But that's not enough, the same forked-dick, sulfur reeking, goat-faced abominations who tell us our military are the only true heroes in the world and the only source and guarantor of our precious freedom are happy to mock them as they lie starving in the ditch, to take food from their children's mouths while they mumble about "takers"

There was a time that I was a nice guy who loved everybody and got along with most. Now, at least in my dreams, I've become death, the destroyer of trolls. May hell resound with the sound of their screams.
