Beck and the Burning Bag

Remember the Halloween trick with the flaming bag of dog crap? Eons of experience show that leaving it alone is the best policy because you can't stamp it out without getting shit all over your porch and on your shoes. It's an apt comparison, I think, to what's happening with Glenn Beck and the boycott of his incoherent hate-fests. Despite Fox having lost some 4 dozen sponsors, his ratings seem to be going up.

The LA Times tells us that according to his latest Nielsen data, he had 2.81 million viewers Monday, his third-largest audience ever on Fox. It didn't hurt that Sarah Palin, the de facto spokeswoman for the Stupid wing of the Hate Party, gave him a plug and it's good evidence that Homo Sapiens bashing has become the national sport.

OK, that's one person per hundred of population, but it's more shit than I want on my porch, thanks.

  1. Toppling over an outhouse with the occupant inside is the other favorite Halloween prank. I prefer this technique over other pranks inasmuch as it leaves the occupant far more exposed ... and causes viewers to avert their gaze.

  3. Lets not forget that summer is the time for television reruns...

Reruns are replayed during the summer because most of us are off enjoying the season, the weather, and are otherwise enjoying life...

So, Beck entices 3 million anti social coach potatos to spend sometime being entertained by his antics against programming that said coach potato most likely has already seen...

Beating the competition; reruns of MASH, The 70's Show, Becker, and Law and Order...

    You go Fox News...

  4. But still, he only has to inspire a small handful - or even one miserable loser - in order to disrupt the world.

  5. Beck IS "one miserable loser..." thus the ability to save the world from disruption was lost regardless of who views him or not....

  6. As they say In business, money talks. To date, Beck has lost 35 major advertisers. The misfits may continue to watch him, but who pays the bills after the advertisers have left? You can't produce a TV show with used toilet paper. Just a matter of time before Beck disappears too, Octo predicts.

  7. I think he'll just get stronger. Every setback or failure will accrue to his account as a victim of the evil nazicommie Liberals.
