How Glenn Beck Makes Sh*t Up

A deconstruction: Beck turns two black panthers, a Farrakhan speech, and a step-dance video into "proof" that OBAMA HAS A SECRET NEGRO GOON ARMY!!!

  1. Beck and his colleagues at FOX have been caught lying, distorting, and misinforming so many times, and yet FOX continues to be the most watched cable news station.

This accounts for, IMO, the unrest and imagined grievances that the Right marches against everytime a camera is pointed in their direction.

The latest disinformation that FOX's O'Reilly tried to spread is that they never promoted the lie that FOX never said people would be jailed if they didn't buy health care.

Videos exist to prove that many employees of the cable "news" show did exactly that, including O'Reilly himself.

It is very discouraging to live in a coutry where so many people so willingly buy into this blatant propaganda.

How many more times must FOX be exposed as the cable lies station before people come to their senses and turn it permanently off?

  2. "It is very discouraging to live in a coutry where so many people so willingly buy into this blatant propaganda."

Stunning understatement that. I think the planet stopped rotating just long enough to do a double take.

Discouraging, demoralizing, frustrating and infuriating and more so if one ever had any respect for this sad, stupid, helpless nation of addicts.

You know my country still won't allow flouridated water because the John Birch Society claims it's a plot to weaken us for the coming communist takeover?

Paranoid schizophrenia is the most contagious plague in human history and it will be the end of human history.

  3. Remarkable stuff, Matt. Thanks.

It's not easy believing a republic like ours has much of a future when the citizenry daily seem bent on proving the truth of Plato's Parable of the Cave: most people believe whatever makes them feel good about themselves and their group, and are apt to become frenzied when their illusions are stripped bare and they're forced, even if only for an instant, to confront the truth.

This generation may be so reactionary that an outright majority will respond at the polls to health insurance reform the same way racists did to the Civil Rights Act in '64: by flocking to a Republican Party that is delighted to welcome even the worst of them. I hope I'm just saying that because I need another cup of coffee. I'm usually more optimistic and in fact I think it would be far worse for the Democrats if they had NOT passed health insurance legislation, but this morning I'm in a bad mood.
